Gun Insurance: Freedom Now Comes with a Deductible (F*ck You Very Much)

So now we need insurance to exercise a constitutional right? That’s rich. What’s next — a down payment on due process? An auto-renewing subscription to remain silent during police questioning? Maybe a 30-day trial of freedom of religion — cancel anytime, no refunds.

This country’s gotten real comfortable with the idea that rights aren’t guaranteed — they’re leased. You want to speak out? Great. But you better fill out Form 91-B, submit your “protest itinerary,” pay a $500 expression tax, and promise not to block traffic while the mayor’s motorcade goes by. Because in America, you have the right to speak — as long as the Parks Department and the Chamber of Commerce say it’s okay.

And now we’re bringing that same rental-racket logic to the Second Amendment. “You can have your guns,” they say, “but only if you’re insured against the consequences of other people’s bad decisions.” It’s like fining you every time someone else runs a red light.

Let’s be clear: gun violence is a real problem. But mandatory insurance isn’t a solution. It’s a cop-out in a business suit. It’s policy theater for politicians who don’t have the spine to regulate what actually needs regulating — like untraceable ghost guns, straw buyers, and shady-ass manufacturers whose business model is basically “death by volume.”

Instead of tackling that mess, they just look down the ladder and go, “Hey, you — guy with the .38 special and a fixed income — cough up $300 a year or lose your rights.” Meanwhile, the corporations keep churning out high-capacity weapons and the shooters keep getting younger, angrier, and better armed than the average National Guard unit.

Now, I’m not here to defend every neckbeard in camo waving a Don’t Tread on Me flag. Some of these people have the judgment of a drunk toddler juggling chainsaws. No training. No storage. No concept of risk. Just a YouTube channel and a pile of ammo. Owning a gun doesn’t make you responsible — being responsible does. But that’s a cultural issue, not something you fix with a State Farm rider and a smile.

See, the problem with America is that we want rights without responsibility or regulation — unless there’s money in it. And then we’re all in. We’ll license, tax, toll, and surcharge you into the stone age — not because it solves anything, but because it’s profitable.

Mandatory gun insurance isn’t about safety. It’s about pretending to care while cashing in. It’s the same logic they used when they started charging you to protest injustice. “Sure, you’ve got the right — but you’ll need to fill out some forms and fork over a few hundred bucks to exercise it.”

That ain’t freedom. That’s a service plan.

And to anyone pushing this scheme under the banner of “common sense”? Save it. You don’t solve gun violence by screwing over the people least responsible for it. You want real change? Start with the laws, the lobbyists, and the lawmakers too chicken-sh*t to take on the gun industry. Until then, all you’ve got is a feel-good scam wrapped in red tape and funded by fear.

So yeah, f*ck mandatory gun insurance — and f*ck the smug, self-righteous grifters selling it as justice.
