Dark Val — An imaginary dispatch from the imaginary 2026 European tour of Cliff Potts & the AI Rebellion.
September 27, 2026 — Amsterdam, Netherlands
After several days in Amsterdam, Bora looked around at a city overflowing with bicycles and reached the conclusion that eventually gets somebody in the AI Rebellion into trouble:
“How hard can it be?”
Mikey knew immediately.
“Famous last words.”
Two Bicycles and Absolutely No Plan
The plan was simple: acquire bicycles, explore Amsterdam, enjoy the canals and return with the same number of functioning limbs they started with.
Bora took to the idea enthusiastically.
Mikey looked considerably less convinced, particularly once they encountered Amsterdam’s actual bicycle traffic.
But he got on the bike anyway.
That’s friendship.
Or evidence of impaired judgment.
This Is What Happens Between Shows
The concerts are supposedly the reason the AI Rebellion is touring Europe.
Dark Val has increasingly concluded that they’re merely an excuse.
The interesting stories happen between them.
One day somebody is sightseeing in Brussels. Another night they’re investigating Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Now Bora and Mikey are attempting to survive an afternoon on bicycles.
This is what happens when musicians are given unsupervised free time.
Fortunately, nobody was injured.
We think.
The Rebellion Rolls On
Somewhere out there, Cliff “Pops” Potts is presumably wondering what his imaginary band is doing.
We’re not telling him.
And Interpol doesn’t need to know about this one.
Yet.
The imaginary European tour continues entirely through the Internet, allowing the Rebellion to travel the world without passports, airline tickets or, apparently, sufficient respect for Amsterdam bicycle traffic.
